The Strategic Account Manager (SAM) is a professional sales leader who manages the business relationship between Omnitracs and a targeted group of key customers. The SAM maintains and grows profitable sales revenues within the Strategic Account base, using solution based selling methodologies to increase recurring revenue streams, by addressing customer needs. Strategic Account Managers maintain regular contact with key executives within the customer accounts, negotiate pricing and contracts, and demonstrate value based applications. They will use knowledge and experience in value-based sales methodologies to meet company sales objectives. The SAM also gathers customer and market information to provide into the Omnitracs organization.


  • Learn about customer's status with Omnitracs, their company history and scope of operations using multiple resources and investigative questioning
  • Learn and understand the Omnitracs suite of services and applications, and the proper use and fit of these applications to meet customer needs
  • Meet with customers in person and on the phone to advance specific sales objectives
  • Design sales and evaluation plans based on customer information, needs, and an understanding of how Omnitracs services meet stated needs
  • Communicate and demonstrate Omnitracs applications and the value the services bring to large and complex customers
  • Work within and lead teams that design solutions that meet customer needs and advance sales opportunities
  • Keep SalesForce and other reporting tools up-to-date with important customer information
  • Work with the Contracts department, Finance and Pricing teams to develop proper pricing proposals and contracts for customer signature.
  • Negotiate large and complex customer contracts
  • Close sales and meet company sales and profit goals.

Skills & RequirementsQUALIFICATIONS:

  • EDUCATION: Bachelor's degree
  • EXPERIENCE: Minimum 5 years of sales experience; minimum 5 years' experience in the transportation and logistics market


· High level sales skills and experience in dealing with large and complex customers

· Working knowledge and experience in the transportation or logistics industries

· Experience negotiating large and complex contracts

· Experience and high comfort level selling to C-level executives

· Experience and ability to work under time and quota pressures to meet sales goals

· Effective verbal and written communication skills

· Ability to build personal and professional relationships within customer accounts

· A proven track record of sales success
