Summary of the Position:

Sells to key accounts, direct headquarters accounts, and distributors. Works with brokers to create the best possible environment for Nutramax at all accounts. Creates account objectives and presents to management, plans sales cycles, creates sales presentations, and forecasts all items by account, plans Co-Op expense, tracks all account level spending, achieves sales and spend targets, maximizes company profitability. Builds relationships with account personnel including; category management, top management, merchandising, accounting, advertising, operations, logistics and finance. Accounts are typically sophisticated in terms of category management and complexity. Successful National Account managers will; collaborate with marketing teams to achieve sales objectives, share best practices with team members, overcome objections, and stay up to date on industry news.

 

Roles and Responsibilities:

 

  • Customer Account Management: Demonstrate ability to drive sales results while providing best in class customer service
  • Negotiate terms of trade activity with customers
  • Create & present business reviews
  • Gain customer approval for company in-store activation (IRC, Displays, Signs, etc.)
  • Gain company approval for distribution increases
  • Address retail pricing, plan o gram, and stock issues with customers
  • Manage routine cuts/supply issues with customer
  • Secure order for MODs from customer
  • Communicate changes to NMX policy, discontinued items, pricing actions, recalls/product quality issues to customer
  • Maintain shared address book with customer contact information
  • Plan in advance all sales calls, reviews with NSM and broker prior to all meetings
  • Prepares call recap documents for National Sales Manager for account interaction
  • Attends Trade Shows and prepares for presentations for accounts attending
  • Utilize time in market to ensure proper placement of products and gather competitive intelligence
  • Manage Nutramax Laboratories product sales: Utilize product, category, customer and consumer data to identify opportunities and prepare selling presentations
  • Manage new product launches
  • Expand distribution of Nutramax Laboratories products
  • Manage multiple company product lines full NMx portfolio
  • Arranges for the acquisition of POS data for key accounts
  • Business Planning/Financial accountability: Conduct sales analytics, using available insights to provide solutions to customer needs
  • Develop annual business plan and achieve top and bottom line financial goals
  • Align customer strategies with Nutramax Laboratories' strategic plan to build a collaborative business plan
  • Understand and execute marketing plan sales material
  • Monitor trade activity execution and address areas of concern with account
  • Complete ongoing general business analytics and evaluate risks, opportunities & threats
  • Evaluate customer specific reports and AC Nielsen IRI reports
  • Maintain up to date Co-Op spend and related worksheets by account
  • Creates and updates monthly forecasts for account product needs and communicates extraordinary product needs to Planning
  • Manage all accounts; promotional spending, sales growth, returns and profitability to annual budget
  • Relationship Management within internal matrix organization: Work in conjunction with Planning, Marketing and Brokers to communicate sales priorities (new items/UPC changes/POGs) with retail partners
  • Communicate to other sales personnel and functions within Nutramax Laboratories as needed
  • Share customer insights with Marketing and Sales teams
  • Share best practices with Sales team
  • Communicate O/I promotions and new account pricing to Customer Service and Data Management
  • Prepares for weekly talk with supervisor
  • Perform other assigned duties as may be required in meeting company objectives
  • Communicate effectively with other departments within the organization and function within a team environment

Minimum Requirements:

 

Candidate must reside in North or South Carolina

Proficient in Microsoft; PowerPoint, Excel and Word. 

Ability to analyze and draw conclusions from Industry data.

Ability to work independently and with a team. 

Ability to understand and follow direction.

 

Education and Experience:

Bachelor's degree or equivalent combination of education and experience. A minimum of 3 years in a Consumer Products Account Manager position calling on HQ with similar responsibilities
