The National Account Manager (NAM) is responsible for growth and retention with existing national accounts, primarily in the QSR and Casual Dining segments. The NAM develops & deploys strategies for each brand, with the support of the field sales team and other cross functional teams as needed, to achieve growth and retention goals as well as to sell new products and services. The NAM is the primary relationship manager for each brand in their assigned portfolio including the corporate office for that brand, key franchisees and supply chain management organizations. This is an individual contributor position; the NAM is not responsible for managing a sales team.
Primary Job Accountabilities:
Develop a strategic account plan (SAP) for each brand in the assigned portfolio
Use the SAP as the roadmap to build customer relationships with Corporate and Regional office contacts and franchisees to achieve growth & retention objectives, secure tests and brand approval for new products and services, provide business updates and identify customer needs where we can provide additional value
Strong ability to communicate effectively with internal and external stakeholders within each brand
Develop and deliver effective sales and business review presentations to identified key decision makers, including C-suite.
Work independently and through our matrix sales organization to execute the SAP and other selling strategies to grow and retain our business within the assigned portfolio
Build strong cross functional relationships and trust internally and externally
Consistently achieve quarterly and annual goals for growth and retention to support RTI’s growth and goals
Conduct thorough customer research to build a compelling story to establish a strong business fit based on program value not reduction in cost
Proficient daily use of CRM to track contacts, activities and sales pipeline
Create sales materials, presentations, business cases and contracts (new and renewals)
Ensure smooth roll-out for customer installs
Accurately forecast new business monthly and quarterly
Education, Requirements & Competencies:
Bachelor's degree and five or more years of outside sales experience
Recent outside sales experience growing and managing a national account which requires thoughtful strategic planning in order to meet and exceed goals. Experience with Burger King, YUM Brands, Jack-In-the Box, or Denny’s a plus.
Successful track record of consistently meeting and exceeding quarterly and annual growth and retention goals
Excellent organizational planning, communication, and time management skills
Strong business and financial acumen
Strong relationship development and problem solving skills with a solutions based, team oriented mindset
Proven ability to adapt to change, be open to performance feedback, work successfully in a team environment and influence others to execute a brand strategy
Ability to travel nationally, with regular overnight travel up to 75% required, which will include some nights and weekends
High level of proficiency in Microsoft Office applications and other RT reporting systems (i.e. Micro Strategy, the data warehouse etc.)
