The Musculoskeletal (MSK) Division of the Department of Radiology at Mayo Clinic in Phoenix, AZ seeks a board-certified, fellowship-trained MSK radiologist to join a growing subspecialty-focused team practicing in a collegial and supportive academic atmosphere. The division consists of 5 MSK radiologists interpreting MSK MRI, CT, and ultrasound examinations, and performing MSK-related procedures. The new colleague will enjoy an academic 100% MSK position that prioritizes clinical care, while offering exciting research and educational opportunities.
The ideal candidate would have at least 5 years post fellowship MSK imaging experience with more than 80% of time devoted to MSK imaging, including experience with MSK ultrasound and sports imaging. Exceptional candidates with fewer years of experience are still encouraged to apply and will be considered. In addition to clinical expertise and proficiency in MSK procedures (including ultrasound-guided procedures), the ideal candidate has a strong interest in radiology education and a history of interdisciplinary collaboration with Orthopedic Surgery, Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation, Rheumatology, Oncology, and Pathology colleagues. Experience in tumor imaging is also welcomed.
The Department of Radiology at Mayo Clinic Arizona currently has 50 radiologists, 5 physicists, 16 residents and 6 fellows, with 2 of the fellowship positions usually filled by MSK. The residency program is top ranked, and we anticipate growth in both residency and fellowship positions. The MSK Division enjoys strong allied health and administrative support. Radiology equipment includes 9 MRI (7 of which are 3 Tesla) and 6 CT scanners. A new sports medicine facility opened in 2018 with plans for further expansion in 2022, including incremental imaging equipment. The ongoing Mayo Clinic Arizona campaign entitled “Arizona. Bold. Forward.” commits $750 million to double the size of the Phoenix campus, resulting in 375 inpatient beds and adding 1.4 million square feet to the campus. Mayo Clinic Arizona is consistently ranked No. 1 in the state of Arizona by U.S. News & World Report’s Best Hospitals and is the only Arizona hospital on the prestigious U.S. News Honor Roll (No. 16 in the U.S. overall). License or certification
Candidates must have completed a full year fellowship in MSK imaging. Board eligible or board certified through ABR.
