Description:Lockheed Martin Rotary and Mission Systems (RMS) is seeking a highly motivated multi-disciplined engineering manager to be the Engineering Leadership Development Program (ELDP) and Advanced Technical Leadership Program (ATLP) lead. This is a leadership position with responsibility for performance assessment, work assignments, mentoring, salary, recognition/disciplinary actions and aiding withrecruitment, selection and training. This leader will work closely with the Denver ATLP/ELDP Manager. In addition, this leader will have opportunities to collaborate with teams, ATLP and ELDP managers across the Lockheed Martin Business Areas. Opportunities for special projects within the technical workforce development area may also be available as time permits. This position is located at the Colorado Springs facility and some travel is required. This is a rotational position with an expected length of approximately 3 years with technical duties approximately 50% of your time and the other 50% will be spent as the site lead for participants in the ATLP/ELDP. Ideally, this leader would have graduated from the ATLP/ELDP program, proven high performance on multiple rotations and/or stretch assignments and demonstrated significant leadership abilities and experience. Preferably, having outstanding communication skills that would enable you to work with multiple managers across multiple LM organizations as well as be able to present to high level executives and large business audiences.
Bachelor's degree from an accredited college in a related discipline, or equivalent experience/combined education, with 10 years of professional experience or 7 years of professional experience with a related Master's degree. Considered an emerging authority in discipline. Demonstrated equivalent experience acceptable.
Besides possessing rock-solid domain expertise in software, hardware, or systems engineering and a passion for excellence, the candidate must possess: (1) strong innovative problem solving skills, (2) strong interpersonal, oral and written communication skills to interact with customers, team members, and senior leadership, (3) a solid work ethic, (4) the ability to lead teams, and (5) a full understanding of other related disciplines.
Experience or familiar with the following: System and Software Architecture; Modular Open Systems Architecture (MOSA); Model-Based System Design (MBSD); Agile System Development Lifecycle; Rhapsody, MATLAB, Jira or equivalent tools; working on a mid-size to large program with a significant set of requirements; in-depth knowledge of Lockheed Martin processes and procedures, including System and Software Engineering Metrics; Control Account Management (CAM); Earned Value management (EVM); Proposal Development
