ATE Test Hardware Development Engineer (MTS)


Member of Technical Staff (MTS) engineer position within the HWI-ATE team, accountable for driving release of test board design guidelines for CPU, APU, & GPU product at ATE. Ensure designs meet first time right and align delivery schedule of hardware to meet 1st silicon at Wafer Sort and packaged units at Final Test.


  1. Engagement with the various product development groups (PDG) for initial definition of test requirements
  2. Generating initial design guidelines to generate RFQ to board vendors
  3. Driving the process with the PDG to finalize design guidelines on schedule
  4. Aligning with the HWI board design leads and board vendors on open questions that affect the board design
  5. Engaigng the PDG to close on open questions affecting the board design
  6. Engaging with the HWI thermal SME on EMC, TDC, & USA circuits needing inclusion in the board design
  7. Assisting in review of board design schematic & layout files delivered by board vendors


  1. Experienced with owning large scale ATE development projects
  2. Ability to engage & lead technical discussions with engineering teams outside of HWI
  3. Experienced with probecard and loadboard design and development including HI Speed requirements
  4. Experienced with Advantest 93k tester hardware and software
  5. Experienced with Probers, Test Handlers and Thermal solutions
  6. Strong communication skills at both technical and executive levels, including the ability to create and discuss technical documentation and presentations
  7. Proficient user of Allegro Cadence
  8. Proficient with Microsoft standard products: Windows Operating Systems and Office applications
  9. Proficient user of Linux and/or Unix Operating Systems


  1. Experienced with working with global teams
  2. Experienced with PCB board layout and fabrication process


  1. Position requires a technology related Bachelor's and/or Master's degree
  2. Position requires at least 7 years of experience in test and/or product engineering
