MSO Communication Manager

Position Description

The Communications Manager is responsible for developing, driving and executing strategic communication plans that support and the business objectives of the Manufacturer Solutions segment in McKesson U.S. Pharmaceutical and Specialty Health. Key audiences include biopharma manufacturers, executives, employees, physician practices and patients. 

  The candidate must possess strong marketing communications skills, including: communications strategy and plan development, message development, ability to succinctly formulate/communicate stories, writing and copy editing through digital and traditional platforms, integrated marketing communications, and superior project management skills.   This role partners with key stakeholders across McKesson, to ensure sound alignment between the enterprise, business unit and segment objectives.   The Communications Manager functions in a highly matrixed organization and will require expertise in team building and collaboration, the ability to be flexible will be key as we operate in a fast-paced environment where informed but quick decisions may be needed timely manner, using strong judgment and extreme attention to detail.   At McKesson U.S. Pharmaceutical and Specialty Health, we’re all working to move healthcare forward, together and we hope you’ll join the team!   Key Responsibilities:      1. Create, drive and execute Manufacturer Solutions communications strategy, planning, writing and execution of communications campaigns, industry event presence, thought leadership, etc.2. Support executive communications needs for internal and external audiences, including leadership content development, talking points/FAQs, event scripts, presentations and presentation coaching.3. Support general marketing communications needs to ensure alignment across other segments and the overall business.4. Create, organize, coordinate, track and communicate projects, timelines and approvals in conjunction with all necessary stakeholders.5. Other duties as assigned.         

Qualifications

 

Minimum Requirements
8+ years communications experience

4-year degree in journalism, communications, business or related field or equivalent experience

Critical Skills

  • Excellent communications skills, written and verbal, in storytelling and creating communications materials for both online and offline environments
  • Knowledge and understanding of the healthcare industry
  • Strong project management skills
  • Ability to multi-task and manage changing priorities in a fast-paced marketing environment, constantly striving for excellence
  • Ability to work with a variety of customers, varying in seniority and work experiences, including executives, designers, writers, legal, IR, production vendors, and other marketing professionals

Additional Knowledge & Skills

  • Knowledge and understanding of the healthcare industry
  • Executive Presence
  • Experience providing design guidance/recommendations for presentations and other communication materials
  • Advanced user in Microsoft PowerPoint, Excel and Word
  • Experience with survey tools (e.g. Survey Gizmo)
  • Vendor resource management experience 
  • Budget management experience
