The Wireless & Security Network Engineer position is vital to ensuring the health and security of the network and related support systems for our client, a 24x7, multisite healthcare system based in Whittier, CA. The Network Engineer will be responsible for the design & build of wireless & network security platforms, firewalls, routers & switches and data centers. The Network Engineer will participate in implementations, migrations, upgrades and rollouts.

Responsibilities:

• Possess expertise in the assigned technology domain
• Design, manage, maintain, monitor and support the infrastructure environment in assigned technology domain
• Direct others to install, configure and support hardware and software required to operate assigned technology
• Provide ongoing maintenance including updates, patches and anti-virus updates
• Troubleshoot and resolve issues in assigned technology including hardware, software, operating system and application-related issues
• Conduct performance monitoring, system health checks, trending analysis and capacity planning
• Provide 3rd level operational support for issues escalated from Service Desk
• Develop and maintain documentation related to technology installation, administration and maintenance

Qualifications:

Academic and Professional Qualifications:

• BS degree in Information Science/Computer Science/Software Engineering/Business preferred
• Certifications preferred

Experience:

• 2-5 years practical wireless & security network experience in providing systems engineering design & build, support and maintenance.
• Strong working knowledge of networking fundamentals including routers, switches, firewalls, LAN/WAN, wireless, data centers and network security.
• Experience with Cisco Identity Services Engine (ISE) required.
• Health IT or experience in a highly regulated industry preferred.
• Excellent customer service, attention to detail, proactive problem solving and time management skills required.

Working Arrangements:

• May require after hours on call support
• Work is performed in a standard office environment with minimal exposure to health or safety hazards
