Perform all responsibilities in accordance with BECU Competencies, compliance, regulatory and Information Protection requirements.
Oversee the program for investment optimization of the mortgage portfolio, including building the analytical framework for mortgage loan pricing, influencing the product development and being a significant contributor to the strategy design.
Manage implementation of residential mortgage loan portfolio and optimization program, including decision making regarding daily tactical and implementation actions.
Monitor, analyze and evaluate the mortgage held for investment portfolio (HFI) and/or held for sale (HFS) position and maintain hedge ratios for related interest rate swap hedge strategies.
Create, manage and maintain the Credit Union’s modeling routines for the residential mortgage loan portfolio, including back-testing of model assumptions.
Understand and apply Portfolio Management theory and best practices to modeling approach, including advanced knowledge of Option Adjusted Spread (OAS) and mortgage prepayment analysis.
Analyze and recommend changes to mortgage product pricing, fees, prepayment, amortization and “optionality” structures within models used.
Develop procedures and analytical routines for the design, development and implementation of quantitative analysis.
Ensure that written procedures are documented for all functions within area of responsibility and update as necessary to provide staff with instruction and guidelines for daily operations.
Interact with internal and external partners and stakeholders during analytical framework design, particularly in the areas of data collection, risk and performance reporting, outside analytical support, strategy development and performance measurement.
Perform additional duties as may be assigned.
Bachelor’s degree in business administration, finance or equivalent work or education-related experience required. Master’s degree preferred.
Minimum 7 years of experience in various areas of financial analysis and modeling required, such as Black-Scholes Option Pricing, Option Adjusted Spread analysis, Mortgage Prepayment Modeling and interest rate derivative pricing.
Ability to explain and break down complex concepts and influence both internal and external stakeholders required.
Experience running an investment and/or portfolio management software, such as Yield Book, PolyPaths or a mortgage pipeline hedging software required.
