Dynetics, an employee-owned company, is seeking a talented, self-motivated Modeling & Controls Engineer to join a multi-discipline engineering team that develops embedded systems for military applications. The candidate will join a team of highly technical engineers and programmers that support weapon system design, development, test, and sustainment for the U.S. Army Aviation and Missile Research, Development, and Engineering Center (AMRDEC). Work will cover multiple weapon systems, both new and existing platforms. This position’s responsibilities will include:
Control system architecture and algorithm development for electromechanical and hydraulic actuated mechanical systems
Application of classical and modern control techniques
Research and select control devices, motors, actuators and sensors for motion control and position sensing
Modeling system dynamics
Implement and test control solutions in multiple environments:
Design and test control system interface/messaging with system executive software and control devices and actuators
Candidate must possess a Bachelor’s degree in Control, Mechanical, Aeronautical, Electrical, Mechatronic, Software or Computer Engineering, or equivalent technical degree. Candidate should have 3-10 years of experience or 1-10 years of experience with a Master’s Degree in an applicable field.
Candidate must be knowledgeable of control system design for mechanical systems and be proficient in MATLAB and Simulink.
Working on-site at Redstone Arsenal on a multi-contractor team and interacting regularly with the government customer, the candidate will be expected to represent Dynetics technically, professionally and ethically.
Highly desirable skills and experience:
Experience with robust control design, addressing difficulties such as significant nonlinearities, nondeterministic behavior, and a disparity of maintenance states
Knowledge of programming languages, especially C# and C++
Experience with Digital Signal Processing techniques
Experience with robotics and/or mechatronics
Candidate must be a US Citizen and possess (and be able to maintain) a Final Secret Clearance or meet the eligibility to obtain (and maintain) a Secret Clearance.
