Qualcomm Corporate R&D RFIC design team is currently seeking experienced millimeter-wave, RF and mixed-signal IC designers to develop next generation communication systems for 5G and beyond 5G. This role will include system level analysis, behavioral simulation and IC design using innovative architectures to deliver best-in-class performance. Of particular importance will be design experience of direct conversion transceivers and phased arrays. Individuals in this role will be expected to:
Work closely with systems engineer on block-level specifications
Perform a transistor-level design of key blocks of Ka/V/W-band transceivers such as power amplifier, low noise amplifier, mixer, phase shifter, synthesizer, ADC and DAC in CMOS, CMOS-SOI and/or SiGe BiCMOS.
Write design review documents
Perform layout design of the assigned block with assistance of shared layout design resources
Extract layout parasitics using LPE/XRC and EM modeling tools
Participate in top-level simulations, verifications and tape out
Perform package level or probe level testing of the assigned block

5+ years ASIC design, verification, or related work experience.
PreferredQualifications3+ years of millimeter wave or microwave RFIC design and verification in SiGe or nanometer scale (65nm and below) CMOS technologies using Cadence tools
Experience in transistor level millimeter wave or RFIC and analog/mixed-signal design including blocks of frequency synthesizer/phase lock loop, TX modulator and driver amplifier or power amplifier, RF filters, downconverter and low noise amplifier.
Experience with RFIC design for 3GPP standard wireless technologies including UMTS, LTE and 5G NR
Hands-on knowledge of Cadence EDA tools and EM modeling tools
Ability to work with RF test equipment in the lab
Proven track record of successfully transition designs into production
Education Requirements Required: Bachelor's, Electrical Engineering
Preferred: Master's, Electrical Engineering
