The MIS Project Services Supervisor role involves strong leadership and analytical skills. As a part of Manufacturing Information Systems, which acts as a service organization within Niagara, for plants andother corporate teams, the supervisor isresponsible for providing an oversight in executing and implementing corporate projects as well as rollouts in new or older plants, along with process training and change management. A key responsibility is to provide leadership and mentorship to Specialists. The Supervisor will collaborate with team members andother stakeholders to ensure that Niagara applications run smoothly while functioning as a primary resource for project commissioning’s and post-commissioning support. The MIS Supervisor will alsoreport on key KPI’s as well as overall project status to various keyinternal/external stakeholders.

Detailed Description

  • Provide leadership and coordination in the implementation and deployment of complex industrial applications, manufacturing technologies, and information systems meeting Niagara’s requirements.
  • Develop a good understanding of the current applications and systems landscape at Niagara. Develop detailed specifications on how to successfully commission and deploy our manufacturing technologies such as AGR & MES that will replace some of the current applications, Rprocesses, and interfaces.
  • Work with other Niagara teams to ensure that existing applications and MES system are setup properly to exchange proper information back and forth with regards to master data, BOM, recipe, work orders, etc.
  • Understand key touch-points between ERP, WMS and MES systems to provide better execution of various MES related roll-outs.   
  • Responsible for assisting in all phases of assigned MES projects including project commissioning’s, extensive integration systems testing, creating/revising project requirements, detailed documentation, and supporting initial user training.   Individual will also need to be capable of mentoring others on the MES suite of applications while performing project execution tasks.
  • Develop into a technical authority with a firm grasp of project management principles and tools, mentoring and commercial skills.
  • Support functioning business divisions with the identification of improvement opportunities and assist in providing cost-effective solutions using advanced technologies, analytical tools and techniques.
  • Work to understand the 4 pillars of manufacturing execution – production, quality, inventory and maintenance.
  • Work diligently with the plants to provide support and out of the box solutions to facilitate high level of customer satisfaction.
  • This position requires up to 75% travel

Competencies

  • Prior experience with Oracle as an ERP is preferred, especially in Inventory, BOM, WIP and Quality modules.
  • Familiarity and prior working experience with tools such as Manhattan WMS, EIT (efficiency improvement tool), Shotscope and programming tools such as RSLogix 5000, Siemens S7, is highly desirable. 
  • Prior experience and understanding of Manufacturing Execution Systems and/or rolling out software/automation solutions across a multi-plant set up is preferred.
  • Experience in a food or beverage operation is preferred. 
  • Understanding of manufacturing processes and lean manufacturing techniques is required
  • Familiarity of MESA / ISA-95 MES standards is also highly preferred. 
  • Proficiency in, but not limited to:

    • Efficiency Improvement Analysis Applications
    • New System Implementation & Administration
  • Ability to work well under pressure in a very fast paced environment.
  • Ability to translate data into recommendable actions to senior staff.
  • Strong analytical and problem solving skills. Technical writing skills (is a plus).
  • Self-motivated with a proven record of taking the initiative. Able to work with minimal supervision.
  • Detail oriented with excellent oral and written communication skills.
  • Able to execute tasks in a very dynamic and ever-changing environment.
  • Exercise sound judgment and ability to work effectively with a diverse workforce.

Education

  • MinimumRequired: 
    • Bachelor's Degree in ElectricalEngineering, Mechanical Engineering, IndustrialEngineering, or Computer Science and other related fields or equivalent experience
  • Preferred: 
    • Master's Degree in ElectricalEngineering, Mechanical Engineering, IndustrialEngineering, Computer Science, or MBA
