We are seeking an enthusiastic, engaged geologist who can complement and/or diversify our existing practices and capabilities and support investigation and remediation programs. Preferred candidates will have previous experience with site investigation and remediation projects ranging from initial site investigation through remedy selection, design, construction, and operation. Knowledge of Pennsylvania oil & gas and environmental regulations is preferred along with prior experience related to report development, environmental permitting, and construction/subcontractor management.

What will you be doing at Woodard & Curran?

  • Field Team Leader for environmental investigation and remediation efforts in support of oil & gas operations.
  • Lead, implement, and/or support large-scale groundwater sampling programs and incident spill response in accordance to Pennsylvania’s Land Recycling Program.
  • Provide support to Project Manager, including planning/preparing/tracking scope, proposals, schedule, and budget.
  • Selection, coordination, and observation of subcontractors in fulfillment of project tasks.
  • Monitoring and documentation during groundwater treatment system installation and other remedy implementation activities.
  • Data compilation, analysis, and visualization (e.g., GIS, Access, SQL, 3-D software packages, etc.).
  • Preparation of environmental reports and permits.

This position can be located in either our Elmira, NY or Tunkhannock, PA offices.

What will you need to succeed?

  • Bachelor of Science in Geology, Hydrogeology, Geophysics, or a related degree.
  • Approximately 5 to 10 years of experience working in the environmental consulting industry.
  • Knowledge of and experience implementing state and federal programs (such as, Oil and Gas Regulations, RCRA, CERCLA).
  • Professional licensure in PA is a plus.
  • Excellent technical writing skills, keen problem-solving ability, and committed to a career in environmental consulting.
  • Excellent communication skills.
  • OSHA 40-Hour HAZWOPER training and annual refresher courses.
