WSP is currently initiating a search for a Mid-Level Civil Engineer for our Las Vegas office to assist in performing computer assisted drafting to support planning, design, and development of transportation and site development projects. The successful individual will be part of a team of talented professionals delivering transportation and infrastructure projects within the region. This is a unique opportunity for a motivated individual that would like to continue to grow their career while working on a variety transportation, local, municipal, and water resource projects. Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Perform civil/highway design tasks requiring independent judgment in the evaluation, selection and substantial adaptation and modification of standard design or engineering techniques and procedures
  • Perform design tasks and prepare calculations on land development and highway projects from conceptual and preliminary engineering to final design
  • Responsible for coordination with other design disciplines, including structures, hydraulics/drainage, storm water, traffic, electrical, utilities, right of way
  • Responsible for preparation of project reports, plans, specifications, and estimate bid packages
  • Ensure that production of specifications, reports and analyses meet scope, schedule, cost and quality requirements
  • Interact with clients, lead technical project design meetings
  • Supervise and perform AutoCAD Civil 3D and/or MicroStation drafting to support various design teams
  • Other duties as assigned

Job Requirements

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Bachelor of Science in Civil Engineering or related field from an accredited program
  • Five (5) years in the design and preparation of project reports and construction contract documents for roadways and highways
  • Nevada PE certification, or ability to obtain within 6 months
  • Very good verbal, written and interpersonal communication skills and ability to work within a team environment
  • Strong computer skills including Microsoft Office, AutoCAD Civil 3D and MicroStation V8i and Inroads
  • Detail-oriented with an emphasis on quality work products

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Engineering experience in Las Vegas
  • Knowledge and understanding of land development standards
