System API Developer performs these activities\:

Works with the business data modeler, data analyst, and other team members tocreate a design or update exisiting designs / API contracts, how the data in thedatabase maps to the API contracts, how data will be derived on the fly as required, and other APIlevel design items

Ensures that the design and the implementation meet the functional and nonfunctional requirements

Handson work to develop / deliver the solution

Handson troubleshooting and tuning

Follow the standards set by MetLife for data design, system API contracts and information management, API development and deployment, error handing, monitoring, and other practices

Perform peer reviews of code as soon as it is delivered

Perform demos, design reviews, and code reviews for program and platformlevel governance groups

Participates in sprint planning sessions, including providing detailed tasks that are required to fulfill stories

Always, always keep Jira information uptodate

Big Data Developer must have these traits/capabilities to be successful\:

Extensive experience with API and microservice development in Java, Docker, and Azure

Deep experience in creating performant APIs and efficient querying mechanisms against database technologies such as Hbase and Titan

Deep experience with developing APIs for data delivery

Must have experience leading teams (for senior system API developers on theteam)

Very strong communication and collaboration skills

Passionate about delivering accurate (and brief) documentation about what has been delivered

Love working with people

Inquisitive

Have a high bar for quality

Passion for Agile development, and experience with Agile


Designing and developing enterprise solutions especially Single page applications with Micro services

Developed the application and fixed numerous defects at the critical stage of theproject.
