Your Role and Responsibilities

Looking for a strong hardware design engineer for our micoprocessor design team for P & Z servers.
Custom Processor and ASIC Development engineers participate in various aspects of the development and validation. We have openings in areas of System Architecture, Pre-Silicon Verification, VLSI based Physical Design, Memory Development, Design for Test and System Performance Modeling. Bring-up, Characterization and Verification of system and memory performance and functionality to uphold IBM's high standards of quality and reliability is another key area of opportunity and challenge.
Software engineering opportunities exist in the Electronic Design Automation organization. Custom hardware and software tools enable chip design and verification to tackle challenges at every technology level. These software tools cover the full spectrum of the chip design process including electrical timing, power, and noise analysis, design for test, logic synthesis and verification, placement, routing and physical verification
Preferred skills include C++, Python, Cadence, VLSI knowledge, VHDL/Verilog, computer architecture.

About the Team
Microprocessor design team designs the chips for P&Z servers.

Required Technical and Professional Expertise
* A minimum of 2 years of experience in micoprocessor design.
* Demonstrated experience in architecture, logic, verification, ckts, integration, timing, power and chip design.
* Exposure to latest industry technology.
* Demonstrated communication skills in a customer facing environment. Not needed.
* A minimum years of experience in (verb)- leading, writing, researching, guiding, managing, etc.
