GENERAL SUMMARY: Assists the VP and Division President in the areas of interior, architectural, and landscape design to ensure the cohesiveness of model home complex presentation themes.
Primary Duties & Responsibilities
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
? Coordinates architectural details, features, specifications, and colors for precise field execution based on concepts from senior management.
? Integrates landscape design with architectural design.
? Assists in design and selection of all products to be installed in model home, to include but not limited to paint, wall covering, furniture, art, rugs, window treatment, pillows and bedding, accessories, etc., in order to reinforce the marketing themes for model homes.
?Assists in researching new products and provides recommendations based on trends and themes.
? Evaluates market conditions and recommends new resources and sources of business.
? Attends professional trade shows as requested by management.
? Assists in researching new products and provides recommendations based on trends and themes.
? Reviews cost for accuracy and job coding when generating commitments to subcontractors and vendors.
? Maintains product files with current products and prices available.
? Assists project management with consultant coordination and plan approvals.
? Monitors project schedule and manages design activities in adherence with the schedule.
? Tracks compliance with design and marketing budgets relative to model home complex responsibilities.
Education & Experience
? College degree in Interior Design or related field and minimum 5 years experience with model merchandising and residential design.
Skills & Abilities
Flexibility in schedule to complete models as required
? Understanding of mechanical situations to repair and adjust furniture and accessories
? Strong communication and interpersonal skills
? Strong design knowledge and color coordinating skills
? Ability to prioritize assignments in order to complete by deadlines
? Detail oriented with strong visual skills for symmetry, alignment, color balance, textures, cohesiveness.
? Proficiency with computer and financial calculator
Technical Knowledge & Experience
Ability to read and interpret information from blue prints
? Typical office environment.
? Construction sites and warehouse where temperature, weather and noise may vary; may encounter electrical, dust, poor ventilation, dangerous machinery, moving objects and toxic conditions
? Travel, to include but not limited to airplanes and cars
Ability to stoop, bend, lift, push or otherwise move objects weighing as much as 25 lbs. 70-80% of the time
