The Area Human Resources Manager serves as the HR business partner for multiple plants in a geographic area. Reporting directly to the Employee Relations Director for Manufacturing, the Area HR Manager will serve as an employee advocate, providesupport and indirect supervision of HR Managers and Generalists, manage employee relations and communications, and ensure compliance with all legal, regulatory and corporate requirements within the plants assigned. This position can be located anywhere within close proximity to the Northeast area. .
30-40% Responsible for strategic and tactical aspects of the human resources functions at multiple facilities within a geographic area. Stay abreast of changes to applicable employment rules and requirements; provide advice and coaching to plant management and HR Manager/Generalists at area plants on compliance. Ensure consistent application of all corporate and plant policies, procedures and/or plant practices. Conduct investigations of potential violations of company policies. Develop and /or conduct training for area plants (compliance training, union avoidance, and other training as needed).
10-20% Manage performance of HR staff in area plants; identify development opportunities and provide feedback and guidance for professional development. Drive organizational development and ensure that accurate and fair assessments of employee performance at area plants are conducted; support managers in forecasting and planning talent pipeline requirements to meet business objectives. Act as key business partner to plant leaders, VP’s and Directors in the respective area on organizational capability reviews for succession planning and talent development.
10-15% Achieve HR initiatives, including leading specific corporate HR organizational projects as assigned. Act as liaison between operations and HR to ensure that HR services are aligned with business objectives.
10-20%Provide coaching and guidance to plant and operations leadership, as well as HR Managers, Generalists in area plants on managing employee issues. Identify and resolve employee issues.
10-20% Conduct HRaudits for regional plants, lead union avoidance strategies, develop, maintain, and continuously improve processes, systems and technology, measurement practices and metrics reporting.
5-10% Manage specific projects as determined in the annual HR plan and participate in functional and cross-functional initiatives. Participate in corporate HR project teams and programs and coordinate community involvement.
5-10% Actively participate in area plants’ Environmental, Health & Safety initiatives; ensure EH&S facility reporting per corporate requirements.
5-10% Assist with recruitment of salaried positions at area plants; interview candidates.
5-10% Perform other duties as assigned.
