We are looking for anexperienced Operations Director, possessing the critical personal attributes andexperience to lead and mentor our Production Operations,Manufacturing Engineering and Facilities teamsto ensure that the production and shipments of products and services are compliant with company and customercontractual requirements. This leadership role will provide vision and direction, build effective work teams, establish priorities, monitor performance, andsupportproblem resolution.


  • Manage and direct the business through other managers, including Production Operations, Manufacturing Engineering, and Facilities. Recognizes the interrelationships of all components of the organization and effectively works within the structure. Participates in union meetings, grievances, arbitrations and contract negotiations as required.
  • Insure that the manufacturing and operational controls are in place to support ISO, AS 9100, FAA, various military specifications and other industry and customer requirements. Develop a Human Resources plan and, along with the HR Manger, supervise the day to day Human Resources activity to foster good working relationships and to enhance productivity and crate a safe, secure, satisfying work environment for our employees at both plant locations. Participates in union meetings, grievances, arbitrations and contract negotiations as required.
  • Establish performance goals, establish metrics for continuous improvement and measure performance. Maintain, continuously improve, or convert the business from conventional a batch driven operation to a single piece flow manufacturing assembly facility. Keeps abreast of trends and developments in manufacturing processes, operating processes, equipment and machines facilities development, systems automation and management techniques.
  • Allocate resources and assesses policies for operating departments. Direct the evaluation, justification and recommendation of the purchase of capital equipment. Participate in the acquisition and set-up of new equipment, processes and facilities. Develop Operations budgets for the business plan and analyze monthly financial statements to attain production and shipping goals. Guides, directs, approves budgeting activities and prepares monthly Operations reports.


  • B.S. in Engineering (Industrial or Mechanical) with an advanced degree (MBA) preferred.
  • Minimum of 15 years of progressive manufacturing assemble operations experience, including a minimum of 10 years combined supervisory experience in Production, Engineering, Quality or Facilities.
  • Extensive knowledge of Automated (MRP II) Material Systems, SPC, Quality Systems and Supply Chain management.
  • General knowledge of Business Systems, Finance and Human Resources. Multi-plant experiencepreferred.
  • Knowledge of aerospace industry or similar industry products and legal and regulatory requirements related to field.
  • Ability to effectively apply continuous improvement principles and techniques to quality and manufacturing functions.
