Maintains software of various tools used on the production floor related to the MES system, including windows-based “controls” components of labeling and WIP stations (ex. industrial touch screens, tablets, pc’s, etc.)
Procures, implements, and maintains the scanners and other data input/collection devices associated with MES.
Maintains documentation in the configuration and deployment of all MES related hardware (scanners, terminals, tablets, etc.)
Analyze, isolate and report MES equipment issues, including troubleshooting of equipment located on production floor.
Partners with site maintenance to ensure equipment repairs are completed (i.e. scales).
Plans, coordinates, manages, and oversees machine integration for data collection, such as OEE, Measurement Data (temperature, flow, weight, etc.).
Responsible for maintaining an open line of communication between corporate engineering and plant management to determine what machines are capable of MES integration. This will be vital with expansion of the MES tool.
Updates and maintains OPC Server configuration to support machine integration.
Create and maintain MES Reports and Dashboards (Plant Level – user specific)
Manages upgrades and maintenance of MES; timely communicates availability status with operations and coordinates when testing will be conducted, updates will be applied etc.
Makes recommendations for future upgrades.
Train users on proper usage of MES per current standards
Audit users to ensure that all MES processes are performed to standards and identifies when there is a persistent problem occurring due to user error.
Analyze production and MES usage data to maintain MES efficiency, including evaluating and recommending MES modifications to improve systems performance due to concerns with system growth, capacity and/or speed of the system.
Assist with the support and troubleshooting of other plant Line-of-Business / production systems not necessarily associated with MES (refrigeration controls, oven controls, wastewater controls, sizing line, basting, injection, etc.)
Bachelor's degree in Information Technology plus one year working experience or at least 5 years working experience/certification in IT required.
CompTIA A+ Certification preferred.
ITIL training and/or certification preferred.
Create and maintain technical/process documentation related to user or system design specifications.
Self-starter and comfortable with working independently while providing timely and accurate status reports.
Ability to work with the customer in difficult situations by balancing technical knowledge and people skills.
Strong business acumen - ability to understand the impact of IT on various parts of the business.
Ability to prioritize and manage multiple tasks without direct supervision.
Multi-tasking abilities, along with ability to work well under pressure, prioritize and meet tight deadlines.
Must be able to work independently in fast-paced environment and exhibit strong written and verbal communications skills
Strong customer service and prompt solving skills including the ability to provide diligent, prompt, and courteous responses to users question or computer/network issues.
Ability to adapt to different environments, across all functions, and at all levels of the business.
Experience with IT incident ticketing systems for prioritizing requests.
Position may require travel up to approximately 20% of the time.
