Job Description:

Maxim is seeking an experienced Product Engineer to support assigned IC products through the full product life-cycle. Assignment may be in Maxim’s industrial, medical, communications, automotive, or mobility solutions groups.

Responsibilities include:
Work with process engineers to recommend improved processes and controls to improve defect density and yield excursions.
Define problems by identifying fail modes, quantity of material affected, and percent fallout.


Perform data correlation to Fab parameters and tools and isolate modules and equipment in the process that is responsible for the loss.
Interact with design, test, and process groups to implement fix for yield problems during technology development, as well as part of cost reduction on mature technologies.

Minimum Requirements:

  • Master of Science degree in ElectricalEngineering, Physics, Materials Science, or closely related field of study plus 2 years of experience in the job offered.

    Senior Engineer, Research Assistant, or closely related occupation. In lieu of MS+2, Employer will accept a Bachelor of Science degree in ElectricalEngineering, Physics, Materials Science, or closely related field of study plus 5 years of experience in the job offered, Senior Engineer.

    Research Assistant, or closely related occupation. Employer will accept any suitable combination of education, experience, or training.

  • Must possess expertise/ knowledge sufficient to adequately perform the duties of the job being offered. Expertise/ knowledge may be gained through employment experience or education. Such expertise/ knowledge cannot be "quantified" by "time." Required expertise/ knowledge includes:

    Background in Electrical, Semiconductor process, and/ or device physics. Working with lab equipment including SEM, oscilloscope, and curve tracer. Setting up electrical bench test. Performing statistical data analysis. Use and understanding of semiconductor process and device physics on CMOS and BJT.
