Job Summary

Leads and manages sales staff to ensure marketing and service goals are achieved for the Florida Blue Medicare market with the objective of increasing and retaining Medicare enrollment in the state of Florida, including the attainment of annual sales and retention goals. Plans and directs resources to support sales/retention for the Medicare program, including DSNP and all other Medicare products. Attains field goals set forth annually in the Medicare Business Plan and other territory management strategy documents. Accountable for achieving field budget targets. Acts as a liaison between Florida Blue and Provider Groups/Assets identified as key to growing the Florida Blue Medicare membership.



Essential Functions


  • The essential functions listed represent the major duties of this role, additional duties may be assigned.
  • Hires, trains, coaches, counsels and evaluates performance of direct reports, including the development of sales goals, performance and personal developmental goals in a defined territory. (25%)
  • Implements marketing strategy for sales/retention of DSNP and Medicare Advantage plans throughout the State of Florida. (20%)
  • Participates in the creation of the annual Medicare Sales Plan and holds direct reports accountable for completion of goals stated in plan (new sales, retention, lead conversion). Oversees field marketing budget. (5%)
  • Responsible for the establishment of production goals and compliance thresholds, along with the communication and ongoing enforcement of these established expectations with each agent. (10%)
  • Collaborates with internal/external partners, including Community Groups, Market Presidents, Key Providers, Medicare Network and Product teams, and all other Florida Blue Medicare Sales Channels. (20%)
  • Monitors lead and conversion data and other tools to analyze team performance: identifies and initiates action on issues, opportunities and trends in a timely manner. (10%)
  • Assures adherence to all sales compliance processes and CMS regulatory requirements; Develops and implements sales processes, reporting and controls for captive sales channel (10%)



Required Work Experience

5+ years related work experience. Experience Details: Experienced in Medicare Advantage Sales and Sales Management


Required Management Experience

2+ years direct supervisory/management experience


Required Education

Related Bachelor's degree or additional related equivalent work experience


Additional Required Qualifications


Florida Health & Life insurance license 2-15, including annual Medicare Advantage certification, or ability to acquire these within 6 months of hire date.


Previous Medicare Advantage Experience 2+ years Sales Management experience

Excellent written, oral and negotiation skills.

Experience composing and facilitating presentations.

Problem-solving experience, working with management and internal/external stakeholders.
