Swedish Cancer Institute is searching for a full-time Breast Medical Oncologist to serve in their multi-disciplinary Breast Program in Seattle, Washington. This is an ideal role for a thoughtful and collaborative clinician who can expand an ambitious vision of multidisciplinary breast and women's cancer care, building on the legacy of robust compassionate care of cancer patients and their families and cutting edge clinical and translational research at the Swedish Cancer Institute. The ideal candidate will have medical oncology fellowship training and a sterling record of clinical practice with a strong background in clinical and/or translational research.
The Swedish Cancer Institute is one of the oldest cancer centers in the United States, providing innovative care for patients since 1932. The True Family Women's Cancer Center, located within the Swedish Cancer Institute opened in 2012 with the co-location of much of the care for women with breast and other cancers. Today, the True Center primarily serves women with a range of breast related diagnoses from benign breast disease to high risk patients, breast cancer patients and survivors. Over 1,500 new patients with breast cancer are seen within the Swedish Cancer Institute on an annual basis, including four practice sites throughout the Puget Sound region. Patients are provided access to the full range of assessment and treatment, including a high risk clinic, onco-plastic surgery, specialized reconstructive surgery, breast and general medical oncology, radiation oncology, chemotherapy, hormone and targeted therapies and innovative clinical trials. Supportive care services include: embedded social work; genetic counseling; integrative medicine; massage and touch therapies; rehabilitation services; financial counseling; patient education; palliative care; and survivorship. The True Center has exceptional patient satisfaction scores due to a commitment to high quality care, a personalized approach to patients and their families and strong systems-for-care coordination.
The Swedish Cancer Institute provides access to state-of-the-art clinical trials including, Academic Breast Cancer Consortium, ALLIANCE, NCORP and Genomic profiling registry. There is a long-standing comprehensive breast center database of over 17,000 patients. The program incorporates fully invested dedicated breast radiologists and pathologists. Swedish Cancer Institute adheres to a robust multidisciplinary approach with weekly prospective multi-disciplinary breast cancer conferences.
