  1. SCOPE OF POSITION
    The Medical Director provides guidance and leadership for performance guidelines; handles physician behavioral and impairment issues, along with the administrative leader of the Urgent Care Centers (UCC's); sets level of medical care and quality for patients using available data and chart reviews; provides medical consultations for medical and facilities staff; responsible for maintaining a consistent level of service and treatment that is offered to the patients; represents the UCC's at administrative leadership meetings; provides support to UCC providers when needed; aides in writing and maintaining UCC policies and procedures considering best practices and standardization.

SUMMARY OF RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Working with the administrative team, participates in formulating long term strategic and business plans to ensure the health system's growth and viability.
  • Provide oversight of Clinic provider schedule.
  • Provide leadership with coding education.
  • Advise and assist the Corporation with marketing;
  • Provide leadership with implementation of patient centered care initiatives
  • Meet regularly with leadership team and provider team for discussion of clinical and operational issues related to supervision of the medical operations of the Clinic
  • Advise and assist the Corporation with respect to the development of clinical protocols, policies and procedures
  • Where appropriate, review medical records regarding patient complaints/concerns
  • Furnish appropriate clinical instruction, training and information to the professional staff and employees of the Corporation relating to the provisions of Clinic services
  • Assist in recruiting physicians and other health care professionals to the Corporation
  • Observe, become aware of and report periodically to the leadership team regarding the activities of the Clinic providers with regard to quality and other patient care issues;

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE
Medical doctorate degree from an accredited institution of medicine. 10 years of professional experience within the type of facility managed.

This job is performed in a fast-paced office environment with moderate noise levels and frequent interruptions.


The incumbent must maintain a high level of physical and emotional health to cope with frequent periods of high stress and working hours that routinely extend well beyond the standard work week. Cognitive abilities must be unimpaired to deal with the intellectual demands of the position. Ability to use adaptive equipment if necessary where work requires. Work will routinely be performed in an office environment or automobile with movement around the building and campus when necessary to visit reporting departments, inspect the condition of facilities and equipment and to attend meetings. Local, state and national travel may be required in this position.
