Position Description:

CGI seeks a self-starting, independent Media Relations/Public Relations AFRICOM professional. The idealcandidate has 10+ years’ public relations and media relations experience, possessing a solid understanding oflegal concepts applicable to the DoD and government markets in the public affairs and communications industry.

Your future duties and responsibilities:

• Serves as a specialist in the public participation program of an agency's headquarters staff within a Federal department providing assistance in the national direction and coordination of the organization's efforts tosolicit public input in its decision making process. 
-- Identifies, summarizes and analyzes public comments submitted on national issues; also advises and assists program headquarters and field personnel implementing analysis systems on national and regional issues; 
-- Reviews all proposed Federal Register entries for the organization concerning national issues in the public participation program including those announcements printed in compliance with department's consumer representation plan; also prepares draft reports on public involvement efforts and reviews environmental impact statements for thoroughness and adequacy of public involvement process; 
-- Writes public involvement plans for informing and involving the public on issues of national significance
• Knowledge of written and oral communication principles, methods and techniques and skill in applying this knowledge in providing assistance to the development of public involvement programs and applying analytical techniques in the analysis of public input on program issues and skill in working effectively with various types of groups.

Required qualifications to be successful in this role:

Minimum of a Master’s degree in Business Management; Communication or Public Relations

• In lieu of Master’s degree, ten years or more experience in public affairs, public relations or marketing would meet education / experience requirement

• Background, education and/or experience in public relations field conducting media content analysis and trend analysis

• Background, education and/or experience in research and statistical analysis also required

• Mastery of MS Office suite of programs, Adobe

• Must have an active personnel security clearance at the SECRET level in the Joint Personnel Adjudication System (JPAS) at time of the proposal submission, and must maintain the level of security required for thelife of the contract

• Due to the nature of the government contract requirements and/or clearance requirements, US citizenship is required
