Gensler’s Integrated Communications Studio, an in-house strategic communications agency, is seeking a Firmwide Media Relations Director who will help shape the reputation of the firm and strategically position its brand with its key audiences.
The Firmwide Media Relations Director will build and execute global PR programs, leveraging the connections with the regional PR teams across the firm, as well as own the relationship with Gensler’s global PR agency.
As a hands on leader, the Firmwide Media Relations Director will build and communicate strategic integrated media and PR plans, gaining consensus among the firm’s leadership and serving as a trusted advisor to internal clients.
12-15years of experience in a strategic communications position with experience in public relations, corporate and executive positioning, and brand messaging
Experience in an agency setting, or in-house for a professional service firm is a plus
Experience in the design, architecture, real estate, or building industries is of interest; agency or journalismexperience is helpful
Excellence in collaborating with and counseling senior executives (C-suite, Managing Directors, Subject Matter Experts, etc.)
Experience working with decentralized multi-location, global and multicultural communications and media relations teams
Strong relationships with key national, global architecture and design trade media + consumer lifestyle, news, and business media, and proven track record of placing significant stories
Excellent verbal and written communication skills is a must, including the ability to present to C-suite level executives
