We are seeking a dynamic and creative Media Director to be part of our leadership team of our New York media team. The ideal candidate will be equal parts media innovator, client relationship master, and inspiring team of media specialists across digital and some traditional. S/he will have a strong track record for delivering on senior level client relationships across key clients. The Media Director must be a strong collaborator in a highly matrixed organization. This position reports to the Group Media Director


  • Lead integrated media strategy with a focus on data driven media and performance marketing.
  • Support growth of incremental media spend and business, drive alignment with overall integrated strategy; produce on-going recommendations, drive thought leadership, media best practices and strategies to maximize integrated marketing campaigns results
  • Develop and implement innovative media strategies to improve the effectiveness of clients' marketing programs
  • Partner with BD, participate and lead pitches as necessary
  • Single point of agency contact regarding their area of responsibility
  • Oversees development, execution and maintenance of client media plans
  • Manages a staff of media professionals. Develops the staff through performance management and giving consistent feedback. Identifies with staff developmental opportunities and helps them to work toward their professional goals
  • Communicates and disseminates client requests to team; manage client expectations
  • Maintains thorough, and real-time knowledge of client business

Experience Guidelines:

  • Proven experience leading a large digital and integrated media team and managing innovative campaigns for blue chip clients
  • 10+ years of advertising and marketing industry experience; with the majority in digital
  • Strong planning background with experience of media budget or client revenue of at least $2MM+
  • This role plays across 70% digital, 30% traditional
  • 5+ years experience in managing or developing a junior staff; ability to motivate a team of media planners
  • Strong knowledge of media planning tools such Adrelevance, @plan, Nielsen Net Ratings, MRI, Strategy and Comscore
  • Familiarity and relationships within online media landscape, including those in search, portals, web publishers, programmatic, and emerging publisher and vendor technologies
  • Outstanding track record of management capabilities and organizational leadership in a client-service, team-driven environment
  • Proven ability to develop and maintain strong professional relationships with clients, colleagues and vendors
  • Exceptional verbal/written communication skills
  • Solid presentation skills
  • Frequent travel may be required

Education: Bachelor's degree required or equivalent military experience
