Job Summary

AECOM has a new opportunity for a Mechanical Superintendent at our Springfield, VA location. The Mechanical Superintendent is responsible for the safe and efficient operation of all equipment in his/her specialty qualification and for emergency notification of proper supervisory personnel as needed. The Mechanical Superintendent will be responsible for SLA compliance. The Mechanical Superintendent must ensure staffing and scheduling is adequate to ensure safe compliance with SLAs within established work hours. Will be responsible for coordinating work with trades not under his/her supervision. The Mechanical Superintendent must ensure work scheduled for support to construction projects must be deconflicted with SLA compliance.

The Mechanical Superintendent will supervise the following areas: HVAC, BAS, Plumbing and Plant Operations. Will perform other job-related duties as assigned to include but not limited to (1) daily updates, (2) weekly/monthly reports, (3) facility innovation recommendations and (4) weekly timesheet verification.

Minimum Requirements

  • Must be a US Citizen
  • Requires an active TS/SCI security clearance.
  • High school diploma or equivalent;
  • Fifteen (15) years building maintenance experience
  • Fifteen (15) years of supervisory experience.
  • Must have a Journeyman's license/BAS certification equivalent (i.e., Siemens, Apogee, BAC-net)

Work Environment, Physical Demands, and Mental Demands:

Typical office environment with no unusual hazards, occasional lifting to 50 pounds, constant sitting while using the computer terminal, constant use of sight abilities while reviewing documents, constant use of speech/hearing abilities for communication, constant mental alertness; must possess planning/organizing skills and must be able to work under deadlines. Will also work in an outdoor environment with exposure to weather; walking on uneven ground; lifting; carrying; griping; must use required personal protective equipment; The individual and supervisor assure that the degree of risk is reduced to the lowest level. Work involves repetitive motions and may sit for long periods of time. Must be able to acknowledge and respond to emergency lights and sirens and be capable of wearing a protective mask. Work may involve repetitive motions and sit for long periods of time. Familiarity with facilities operations and support vendors.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Masters license
  • OSHA 30 card.
