Mechanical Sales / Project Manager

Spectrum Mechanical, Inc., an industry leader in critical cooling provides design, installation, service and maintenance throughout California, is hiring an experienced HVAC Mechanical Sales/Project Manager with a proven sales track record of success to attract new Data Center HVAC business as well as maintaining and growing existing customer accounts. Spectrum Mechanical specializes in critical cooling systems for data centers, server rooms, and telecommunication facilities therefore experience in this area of commercial HVAC is essential. The ideal candidate will be extremely self-motivated, excellent in building professional relationships with both clients and fellow co-workers and exhibit strong qualities of a goal-oriented individual. Excellent communication skills both written and verbal as well as leadership skills are also essential to the success of this position. The Mechanical Sales/Project Manager position will report to the Vice President of Engineering.

Job Summary

This position requires extensive knowledge of the commercial HVAC industry specifically for critical cooling applications. This position will be responsible for all sales and project management activities as directed by the Vice President of Engineering, manage the quality and consistency of the Spectrum Mechanical product, as well as the company's professional reputation. Knowledge and experience with critical cooling HVAC service and maintenance is an essential consideration for candidate selection.

Job Requirements

  • Manage and grow existing customer accounts including regular inquiries about current and upcoming opportunities, respond to RFPs and bid requests.
  • Seek out, make contact with and put the company in a position to do work with new customers including building owners, developers, property managers, and general contractors.
  • Prepare professional proposals in response to design-build project opportunities including design development, estimating, proposal writing, negotiation, and follow through to job closing.
  • Project management of sold projects from start to finish. This will include all aspects of project management including managing the design process on design-build contracts, pre-construction work, field work packages, quality control throughout construction, project close-out and follow up to ensure customer satisfaction.
  • Meet and exceed sales quotas and required minimum profit margins.
  • Provide project status and performance reports to management as required and requested.

Qualification Requirements

  • Extensive knowledge of critical cooling mechanical systems to include all manufacturers
  • Minimum 3 years experience with critical applications for critical cooling purposes
  • Minimum 3 years sales experience with a proven successful track record
  • Excellent verbal, listening, and customer service skills
  • Strong computer and technology skills including working with Microsoft Word, Excel and Microsoft Project
  • Ability to effectively handle multiple tasks and projects at the same time
