JMT is seeking an Mechanical Project Engineer to join the corporate Hunt Valley, MD team.

The candidate shall be a mechanical design project engineer specializing in mechanical and HVAC systems for complex facility systems. Specific areas of expertise are focused in the area of HVAC and building automation systems engineering and design, but also include plumbing and fire protection systems. The project types include various institutional clients’ including state and local governments, local school districts, aviation/airport facilities, federal government clients and health care clients.

The individual will be offered the opportunity to develop project designs from the initial conceptual mechanical design through design and construction completion for large and small facilities type projects. Staffing support from technically qualified designers and engineers as well as solid quality control support will be provided. In addition, the individual shall be able to supervise the work of design engineers and technical support personnel.

The position offers the individual the opportunity to serve as a design lead for the project design team as well as further develop their technical and managerial skills under the guidance of the senior leaders within the MEP Practice.

Required Skills

  • Work experience with AutoCADD is desired

Required Experience

  • 6-12 years of documented Engineering and Design Project Management experience related to mechanical and HVAC systems
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical Engineering
  • PE is required
  • Experience in developing and coordinating the mechanical engineering work, including some supervision of the design

Working Conditions

Work is performed within a general office environment 50% - 80% of the time. Work is generally sedentary in nature, but may require occasional standing and walking. Lighting and temperature are adequate and there are no hazardous or unpleasant conditions caused by noise, dust, etc. within the office environment.

Field work is required for the remainder of the time where work may be conducted outside in heat/cold, wet/humid, and dry/arid conditions. Some lifting (up to 25 lbs) may be required as needed along with climbing a ladder.
