Be a part of cutting edge design and analysis for space vehicles and missile systems! Manage a multi-disciplined analysis team that supports multiple programs and lines of business, both in Sunnyvale, CA as well as other Lockheed Martin SSC sites.
This position carries both individual contributor technical and leadership responsibilities.
As an Associate Manager of the Central Structural Analysis Department, ensure technical program requirements are met and products are delivered on time and within budget.
Interface with personnel within the organization, other organizations, program management and customers.
Manage workload of employees and conduct performance reviews.
Provide technical oversight, mentoring, career development and training. Promote standard analysis and technical processes, best practices, commonality and all SSC strategic initiatives.
Although this position is expected to require minimal travel, some travel may be required from time to time to support customer and company needs.
This position will manage between 4 to 7 employees who have either or both stress and dynamic analysis skill sets.
BS or higher degree in Mechanical, Civil, Aerospace Engineering or equivalent/related fields.
Strong technical skill in aerospace structural analysis, spanning missiles and/or spacecraft, including finite element analysis and classical analysis methods, with a minimum of 9 years of technical experience (7 years with a related masters degree).
Background in analysis of composite and metal materials, and bonded/bolted joints. Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
Demonstrated Full Spectrum Leadership attributes including the ability to organize, motivate, and lead groups of engineering personnel.
Familiarity with the LM Space Systems Company customers, hardware, and analyses. Working knowledge of NASTRAN, ABAQUS, NX, I-DEAS, Pro-E/CREO, MATLAB, or MATHCAD is strongly desired. Familiarity with LS-DYNA explicit solver a plus.
Non-linear analysis or advanced manufacturing is a plus. Familiarity with various forms of testing (static, thermal, acoustics, random vibration, and shock) is a plus.
Familiarity with package- and CCA-level structural and thermal analysis of electronic packages is a plus. Currently TS/SCI/SBBI clearance is a plus.
