We are currently searching for a Mechanical Discipline Lead for our San Francisco office, who will report directly to the office Managing Principal. The position has both an internal focus and external focus. The primary external duties include: represent HDR in the engineering community, participate in speaking engagements, author white papers and technical publications. Build and maintain strong client relationships. Attend project interviews, contribute to proposal language, and assemble fees. The primary internal duties include: Setting the goals and direction of the mechanical engineering discipline. Identify and manage staffing requirements, mentor staff, and monitor financial performance of all projects. Lead project teams in the execution of work. Establishment and/or maintenance of engineering quality control processes and procedures.
Additionally, the Discipline Lead needs to be a conceptual thinker who can engage our architectural designers at the early stages of projects to inform the conceptual design.
• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Engineering
• 10+ years experience in the design of engineering systems for buildings in the Healthcare and/or Education, Science, and Technology industries preferred
• Professional registration or license
• Strong focus on sustainability
• OSHPD experience
• Excellent leadership and organizational skills
