Compensation: $110,000 - $160,000 / year
DescriptionAs a
Mechanical Designer, you will be responsible for designing unique spacecraft structures, systems, and components, while working closely with a fast-paced, agile team that produces high-performance spacecraft from clean sheet designs.
Responsibilities- Create conceptual designs in CAD based on high level requirements
- Refine designs based on input from analysts, manufacturing, and engineering
- Detail work including joints, fasteners, seals, interfaces, structural elements, features for tooling and fixturing, and lightweighting
- Manage mass properties in CAD
- Produce engineering drawings that effectively convey specifications for manufacturing
- Collaborate with manufacturing group to produce designs
Minimum Qualifications- Bachelors' degree in mechanical, aerospace engineering or related field
- 5+ years of demonstrated design experience
- 2+ years CAD experience
- Ability to work with and manage large assemblies
- Demonstrated packaging and configuration management experience on complex hardware products
- Working knowledge of dimensioning and tolerancing (GD&T)
- Familiarity with properties of common materials, both metallic and composite
- Demonstrated experience working collaboratively across different teams
- Ability to communicate technical challenges, explain rationale and/or resolve concerns
Preferred Skills and Experience- Experience with NX/Teamcenter
- Demonstrated hands-on experience with machining, fabrication, or composite manufacturing experience
- Experience in a startup or agile development environment
Additional Information:Compensation bands are determined by role, level, location, and alignment with market data. Individual level and base pay is determined on a case-by-case basis and may vary based on job-related skills, education, experience, technical capabilities and internal equity. In addition to base salary, for full-time hires, you may also be eligible for long-term incentives, in the
