As an Engineering & Technology (E&T) Manager, the selected candidate will be responsible for the management and development of their team, support of department initiatives and directorate undertakings, and driving technical excellence, affordability, and program execution.
For the management and development of their team, the E&T Manager is responsible for providing technical coaching and mentoring, work assignments, employee career development, continuous ongoing feedback, and being their employees advocate in opportunity discussions.
To support functional initiatives and directorate undertakings, the E&T Manager is responsible for coordinating employee recruitment, selection and training, performance assessments, salary planning, recognition/disciplinary actions, and engineering competency development.
To drive technical excellence, affordability, and program execution, the E&T Manager is responsible for supporting program development, execution of program requirements, adherence to engineering development processes, promoting customer focus, and serving as the technical conscience for their program.
Responsibilities will include Technical Leadership of the S&GS AR and TS, Program and IRAD development activities which includes the TSS Upgrade and S&GS AR IRADs (FST, MMHEL and LPRD). This position will include E&T Manager responsibilities for mechanical design engineering on the program/IRAD. Experience must include conceptual design and development of EO, IR, Opto-mechanical systems including fabrication of prototypes, and their integration and qualification.
The position will require direct, hands on involvement with design, fabrication, integration and testing activities as well as excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
Production and testing experience and an excellent understanding of LMC processes and procedures is required.
Duties will include oversight and direction of the design for all technical functions including mechanical, electrical, systems, software and test engineering.

Must be a U.S. Citizen and have a minimum of Active Department of Defense Interim Secret Clearance.
Must have a Bachelor's Degree or higher from an accredited university (preferably in an engineering focused discipline) with 14+ years professional experience or 20+ years equivalent experience/combined education (without degree).
Must have extensive CAD (preferably Pro-E) experience specializing in design.
Candidates are required to have a minimum of 3 years experience as a technical lead (or IPT lead with similar technical leadership experience).
Engineering management or Engineering team lead experience including task planning, budget management, subcontract management and/or employee development and mentoring.
Demonstrated ability to lead technical efforts associated with all program phases of product development.
Technical depth and breadth in one or more Engineering disciplines.
Comfortable working in a fast-paced and dynamic multi-disciplinary environment.
Experience with sensor design, development and testing.
