Description:The Mechanical Design Engineer will be responsible for the mechanical design, engineering documentation, trade studies, and drawing release for a selected program.
This position will also perform weights and tolerance analysis on system components.
Individuals in this role will work concepts and detail designs to fit Platform Requirements. The selected designer will work the design layout, and follow-up working with mechanical analyst to ensure the design meets all requirements.
Prior experience in metal machining, castings, composites, and forgings is preferred. Additionally, the designer will work with the supplier during the design and manufacturing process to mitigate any production issues.
They will work closely with Mechanical Engineering to support all program objectives. Travel may be required on an as needed basis.

Must be a US Citizen and have the ability to obtain a Department of Defense Secret Clearance.
Bachelor's Degree from an accredited university, preferably in Mechanical or Aerospace Engineering or 9 years professional experience in lieu of degree.
Minimum of 9 years of professional experience.
Experience with all aspects of mechanical design, including layout and design documentation.
Professional experience in CAD software (preferably Pro-E CREO or CATIA V5).
Good knowledge of all aspects of Mechanical Engineering is essential.
Experience in machined metals design as well as metal castings, composites and forgings are preferred.
Knowledge of GD&T is preferred.
Previous LMC experience is a plus.
