MATERIALS SUPERVISOR

CLIENT ENGAGEMENT

The Client is a recognized global manufacturing company, viewed as a leader in worldwide vehicle production as well as chassis, engine and drivetrain manufacturing. The company produces and sells a wide variety of vehicles and systems globally and produces some of the most recognized brands in the world in their markets. This position is with one of the company?s global subsidiaries that manufacturers a wide variety of on-road and vocational heavy and medium duty trucks under many globally known brand names.

REPORTING RELATIONSHIPS

The Materials Supervisor will report to a Materials Manager in a large truck manufacturing facility. A team of 30-50 members will report to the position.

RESPONSIBILITIES

Supervise material personnel, maintain inventory stock levels and ensure product is received and stocked to the production areas. Lead, direct change, coach and mentor team members and direct change (Kaizen, Truck Operating System, Continuous Improvement, etc.) within Materials Department.  

This individual will:

? Supervise Materials: Movement, shipping/receiving, storage, production support, and inventory of materials.

? Maintain efficient storage and control of material used in areas assigned.

? Order, stock and move material in a manner to meet production requirements while minimizing indirect labor costs.

? Ensure safe and clean work areas (Truck Operating System tools, safety strategy, checklist, environmental experience, etc.).

? Use of Truck Operating System and Just In Time Tools (First In First Out, Labeling, Marking, and Foot-printing, Single Stage Stock, parts kitting, etc.)

? Lead, direct change, coach and mentor team members and direct change (Kaizen, Truck Operating System, Continuous Improvement, etc.) within Materials Department.

? Responsible for planning and allocating manpower to support the daily requirements of the support area (30-50 direct reports)

LOCATION 

This assignment will be domiciled in Cleveland, NC

EDUCATION

A Bachelor?s degree with two years of related experience OR an associate?s degree with four years of related experience OR eight years of related experiencerequired.  

EXPERIENCE

The successful candidate will possess:

? At least 1 year of group leader, project lead, or mentoring experiencerequired

? Must be able to work any shift required

? Lean knowledge and experiencepreferred

? Must be legally authorized to work permanently in the US by either US citizenship or Green Card.

COMPENSATION

A meaningful compensation package will be developed for the successful candidate that includes a base salary, along with performance-based bonus.

$88K - $110K
