Job Title: Materials Manager
Location: Johnson City, TN
This position supports the manufacturing facility by proactively supervising the planning/inventory control and inspect, mark, pack functions. Through effective management of these areas, inventory levels, customer response and accurate reporting will assure positive facility performance.
Develops routing information for products, including cost and material flow throughout manufacturing process.
Oversees the Inspect, Mark and Package Department through direction provided to the Group Leader of the area.
Create and monitor the following reports for the facility on a weekly/ monthly/quarterly basis:
Ø On-Time Delivery
Ø Trends – Forecast vs Actual vs Sales pieces and associated inventory
Assures proper coverage of duties for Planners due to vacations, absences, sick leave, etc
Assure that system integrity is maintained, and SOP is followed through analyzing reports. System training and re-enforcing SOP in
Production Planning, Material Masters, and Material Routings are required. Must also be knowledgeable in routings, SOX compliance and
Establishes and maintains procedures associated with Production Planning, and Inventory control consistent with divisional goals and objectives and facility ISO 9001 procedures.
Develops and maintains standard costs of raw materials, work-in-process, semi-finished and finished goods inventory. This is achieved by updating vendor price changes, analyzing operational variances, extracting and reviewing historical data (overhead rate development), incorporating projected scrap allowances, and consulting with the appropriate managers for operational feedback and changes.
Coordinates the SOP, initiatives and goals pertaining to lead times, production and logistics at the plant and acts as a liaison between the Corporate Planning Team and Warehouses on Sales initiatives.
Aids in establishing, coordinating, and compliance monitoring of return material processes. Includes establishing methods to receive products into inventory and the associated relieving of inventory. Leads cycle counting efforts
Job Knowledge, Experience and Education Requirements:
A Bachelors Degree in Business Administration, Accounting, or Engineering and a minimum of 7 years’ experience in the areas of MRP, shop floor control and master scheduling in a complex manufacturing operation.
A thorough knowledge of product costing, budget planning, and forecasting is necessary.
Must have an in depth understanding of the functions and features of computer-based manufacturing control systems.
SAP experience is required.
Supervisory skills are also a pre-requisite of the job.
Must possess strong interpersonal and communicative skills and be a trainer and coordinator of systems and corporate initiatives.
