Description

Hudson River HealthCare provides the highest quality of comprehensive primary, preventative and behavioral health services to all who seek it, regardless of insurance status and ability to pay, especially for the underserved and vulnerable.

Hudson River HealthCare ("HRHCare") is a Federally Qualified, Non-Profit Health Center serving communities in Suffolk, Rockland, Orange, Dutchess, Ulster, Sullivan, Columbia and Westchester County. HRHCare is currently seeking for a board-certified or board-eligible Internal Medicine or Family Medicine Physician to participate in an exciting opportunity to implement a new grant in Brentwood. Suffolk County has been impacted severely by the opioid epidemic and opioid overdose crisis and this would be an expansion of an already robust MAT (Medication Assisted Treatment) team and program designed to address that. The candidate would be part of a multidisciplinary team treating opioid use disorder in an integrated primary care setting.

Applicants must have a medical degree and have demonstrated excellent qualifications in clinical care. The job will combine clinical care in opioid use disorder, acting as a resource for staff and the community on opioid use disorder and opioid overdose prevention, an opportunity for assistance in administration and program development for the MAT program, weekly case-conferencing, and quality improvement with an experienced, multidisciplinary team.

Physicians who are Board Certified or Board Eligible in Internal Medicine or Family Medicine are preferred. Interest in program development and quality improvement is preferred.

An interest in, and, ideally experience in, the treatment of Substance Use Disorder is required. Current possession of a DEA "X" Waiver for buprenorphine is required (preferred, a 100-patient waiver or 275-patient waiver; at least with eligibility for a 100-patient waiver), and previous experience in prescribing buprenorphine is ideal, but not required.

New graduates, with buprenorphine prescribing experience, as well as experienced physicians are encouraged to apply. Experience in chronic HCV treatment is preferred, but not required.
