Summary:

We aim to bring our technologies to life in engaging, new ways and share how they benefit people, both individually and at a global level. Facebook is seeking an experienced Marketing Strategist with a passion for our company, our brand, our technology and the impact we are having in the world. This person will join the Tech & Innovation Marketing team to help position and craft our programs, narratives and briefs. This person will incorporate insights and human truths to develop strategic narratives, positioning, and definition for our emerging technologies to shape how we bring them to life in engaging ways with our core audiences. The team is seeking a thought leader with proven experience to unlock the human and cultural story behind our technologies, challenge assumptions, and inspire marketing managers, creatives and cross functional partners to develop impactful marketing and communication strategies and consumer/influencer narratives. This person is an inspiring brand strategist, a true thought leader, and has a passion for technology. S/he will develop impactful marketing strategies, briefs, and program narratives that demonstrate the innovation within Facebook's technologies and the value to people and communities. This person will collaborate closely with cross functional teams - including across the Tech & Innovation Marketing team, PR/Communications, Product. Excellent strategic and communication skills, excitement for results-driven approaches and comfort with ambiguity are critical. This is a full-time position based at Facebook headquarters in Menlo Park, California.

Required Skills:

  1. Develop a crisp understanding of Facebook's emerging technologies and the industry

  2. Champion the human, making sure we are focused on the needs of real people, in the real world

  3. Commission and analyze research (qualitative, quantitative, ethnographic), collaborating with our research teams

  4. Analyze Cultural, Audience, Technological and Market trends to inform strategic and creative development

  5. Capture and bring to life powerful human insights

  6. Develop sharply focused creative briefs and deliver inspiring creative briefings

  7. Collaborate and support creative teams before and after the briefing

  8. Clear and compelling presentation of strategies and ideas to senior stakeholders grounded in data

Minimum Qualifications:

  1. 8+ years experience as a brand planner or strategist at a creative agency, research company or relevant brand based team

  2. Experience collaborating with matrixed organizations

  3. Self starter – able to work autonomously or with a team

Preferred Qualifications:

  1. Professional experience in technology sector
