Job Description


Recommend and manage client acquisition and retention plans and programs to grow the business. Supports brand growth and nationwide marketing efforts. Manage and maintain marketing tools/systems and programs and provide field-level support related to local field marketing efforts. Identify offers, messages and asset types. Work with marketing strategists/program managers and channels to create local marketing plans to be made available and executed via managed tools and programs. Tools include:

  • Field Advertising and Marketing Storefront (FAMS) - primary responsibility
  • Neighborhood Playbook
  • Local Client Acquisition Tool (LCAT)

A significant portion of the work required to manage FAMS includes:

  • assessing what materials are needed for what programs
  • working with Operations, HR and IT to identify and manage field and franchise access to the materials
  • managing client contact lists for field-only direct mail and email
  • partnering with Sourcing to provide on-demand printing and access to materials needed
  • managing vendor partner relationships
  • training and communicating with the field regarding best practices, expectations and support


  • Collaborates with HRB field and corporate associates to provide client acquisition and retention marketing strategies and collateral. In partnership with Creative Services, develops and continually updates creative for nationwide download and use via our local marketing delivery tool to include flyers, marketing kits, billboards, newspaper ads, office merchandising and more.
  • Provides assistance with the development of H&R Block local advertising strategy and execution to include providing input for consistent creative design, messaging and execution of local marketing.
  • Manages local marketing tool sites to ensure ease in use and functionality. Site maintenance includes testing and approving new collateral and/or functionality, daily monitoring of order fulfillment, collaboration with internal Sourcing team and management of external vendor partners.
  • Monitors and responds to Marketing Support emails and creative requests. Works with IT to monitor site use and traffic and ensure uninterrupted service during peak periods.
  • Manages budget to ensure all invoices are processed and tracked in a timely manner and projects are completed within budgetary guidelines.



  • Bachelor's degree in Marketing, Business, or other related field or an equivalent combination of education and experience.


  • Broad-based marketing experience, including advertising, media, grassroots, database, direct, promotion, merchandising, web content and research.
  • Knowledge of marketing principles, practices and techniques.
  • Proven project management skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously while meeting established deadlines.
  • Ability to balance short and long-term priorities.
  • Effective oral, written, and interpersonal communication skills.
  • Budget management experience.
  • Related/preferred experience type:
  • 3-5+ years consumer marketing experience
  • Familiarity with franchised, multi-unit retail services
  • Financial services and/or seasonal business experience a plus

Technical skills

  • Understanding and previous use of a Windows-based computer system
  • Proficiency in MS Word, Excel, and PowerPoint
