Responsible for the development, recommendation and implementation of a regional (NAFTA – USA, Canada & Mexico) marketing strategy, in alignment with the global marketing strategy. Work closely with both regional and global Sales Management, Business Development, and Marketing colleagues to develop and implement plans that support the sales and financial objectives of the Bulk Monomers (BM) and Application Monomers (AM) product lines. Activities and strategies must be closely coordinated and aligned with both global and regional teams.  



  • Member of the regional BM and AM management team in NAFTA
    • Attends monthly management meetings
    • Contributes to key decisions affecting the operation and direction of the business
    • Drives strategic discussions that will affect future actions of the business
    • Coordinates global and regional discussions on key marketing and strategic issues
  • Participate in the development of global product line strategies. Provide insights and perspective from the USA, Canada and Mexico gained through a structured analysis of these regions customers, competitors, markets and applications.
  • Complete agreed upon global and regional projects targeting the development of specific markets. Analyze the targeted markets, recommend market development strategies and implement the resulting action plans.
    • Analyze and segment the target markets identifying growth drivers and growth rates, attractiveness, customer needs, key stakeholders, etc.
    • Develop relationships with market experts and/or participate in key trade organizations to develop market knowledge and insights
    • Identify competitive products and solutions
    • Define the value chain
    • Define value proposition
    • Develop and outline the Evonik business model, channel to market and product/service offering. Develop story line for positioning of Evonik’s products and services. Include plans for pricing, packaging, inventory, service objectives, etc.
    • Develop roadmap and action plan for implementation.
  • Withsupport from the Market Specialist, ensure the effective implementation of global and regional marketingprocesses.

  • Collect, verify and communicate Market and Competitive Intelligence.
    • Participate in relevant trade organizations and develop relationships with market experts and influencers.
    • Generate and review import/export reports to understand competitive activity.
    • Monitor industry reports from ICIS, IHS, ACS, etc. for information on competitors, market activity and trends.
    • Meet monthly with the regional sales team to collect information on competitive activity and market activity
    • Monitor trends in raw material pricing
    • Develop and maintain profiles on competitors including information on their product offerings, service levels, service policies, manufacturing locations, logistics locations/capabilities, sales and customer service staff.
    • Summarize market/competitive developments monthly
  • In alignment with the global organization, organize and implement regional AM and BM NAFTA promotional activities

  • Proactively address (or bring to the appropriate person’s attention) all safety, environmental, health and security concerns as they relate to Evonik’s sales and marketing of  acrylic monomers in NAFTA and the activities of the commercial team. Conduct all activities in compliance with Evonik procedures and the regions laws and regulations.
  • Coordinate, plan and execute any other additional commercial projects or activities as directed by the GM for Acrylic Monomers.



  • Bachelordegree in science and/or Business.
  • Minimum of 10 years commercial chemical industry experience with at least 7 years in Sales and Marketing with either account management experience or strategic marketing experience.
  • Excellent interpersonal personal skills both with external customers and with internal networking.
  • Strong strategic thinking, critical thinking, analytical and organizational skills.
  • Solid knowledge and experienceworking with software: both standard packages such as Microsoft Excel, Power Point, Word, SAP and application specific software such as CRM, pricing tool box, Tableau.
  • Willingness to travel up to 40%, with some international travel.
  • Excellent written & verbal skills.
