A Brief Summary of This Position:

The Marketing Global Brand Manager is responsible for managing the development and implementation of innovative, comprehensive and integrated marketing campaigns to drive sales and brand equity for Valmont and subsidiaries. This position works in cooperation with the Vice President of Global Marketing, Director of Global Marketing, Product Management, Sales, creative team, and other functional groups within the organization. The Brand Manager leads projects that create the foundation for growth and long-term value, including print ads, brochures, websites, trade show materials, logos, videos, digital media, social media, public relations and events. This position requires a high level of organization and communication and must have excellent skills creating and managing timelines and project plans.

Essential Functions:


  • This position reports to the Director of Global Marketing and has no direct or indirect reports
  • This role requires up to 15% travel (internationally/domestically), including overnight stays
  • Assist the Director of Global Marketing in marketing planning and product introduction by participating in planning and development meetings; coordinate the implementation of approved marketing plans
  • Responsible for coordinating with in-house creative staff, freelancers and select advertising agencies in the development of marketing materials, advertising and public relations
  • Develop communication and project plans
  • Establish key media relationships, especially with trade and industry publications
  • Lead the development and implementation of marketing campaigns
  • Work with vendors, advertising agencies, photographers, media, trainers and event planners to coordinate approved marketing campaigns and needed support material

  • Provide marketing support for sales agents and employees
  • Keep abreast of key business issues and developments within the company as well as within the industry
  • Keeps Marketing department informed of key business developments

Required Qualifications of Every Candidate (Education, Experience, Knowledge, Skills and Abilities):


  • Bachelor's degree with 6+ years of relevant experience or Associates Degree with 8+ years relevant experience or 10+ years relevant experience
  • Five years' experience with marketing, advertising and/or brand management
  • Experience managing projects in a cross-functional environment, with high levels of communication and organization
  • Management experience at the Account Executive level or higher or in-house corporate marketing experience
  • Demonstrated ability to motivate, develop and direct people to execute objectives
  • Strong knowledge of traditional, digital and social media marketing
  • Experience developing creative briefs as required for specific products/campaigns
  • Attention to detail with a high degree of accuracy while working in a fast-paced environment with multiple deadlines
  • Use of imagination and creativity to look at problems differently, and provide an unsolicited, fresh perspective to improve business
  • Work both independently and in a collaborative team environment
  • Self-motivated, hard-working, initiative-taking individual who can identify problems and provide creative solutions
  • Decisive problem-solving ability and capability to assess people and situations with accuracy
  • Ability to communicate with team both verbally and in writing
  • Strong listening and superior relationship-building skills, positive attitude

  • MBA
  • Advertising agency experience in account service
  • Motivation to learn about new products, marketing strategies and other internal processes
  • Mastery of Voice of Customer integration
  • Experience working with management in an organization; instilling confidence and making recommendations
  • Prior experience in the direct management of people
  • Outstanding presentation skills
  • Experience with lead generation as part of a marketing strategy
