Job Description

Tresys Technology is looking for a Marketing Director to strategize and execute programs to influence market perception and industry conversation pertaining to the company's niche with a focus on driving pipeline, sales growth and enablement, and brand visibility and effectiveness.

We are looking for someone who describes themselves as: a thought leader, strategic, self-motivated, persistent, goal oriented, hands on, make things happen.

The role is both strategic and tactical. We are a small (45) person firm and you will be the Marketing Department. Great opportunity for someone who wants to run the show, build the strategy with the executives, design the programs, and be the hands-on implementer.

The ideal candidate will define, direct and execute our corporate marketing, positioning, and messaging program to further solidify Tresys as a leader in the Defense, Intelligence, Commercial, and Critical Infrastructure markets. Their focus will be on accelerating customer and partner relationships and sales through public relations, analyst relations, social media, online presence, partner program management, market research, tradeshows, events, ROI metrics, and corporate communications.

This individual will lead marketing efforts that are directly responsible for revenue generation and open pipeline opportunities.


  • Develop and execute comprehensive marketing strategy to acquire and retain customers. Evolve Tresys' branding and positioning.
  • Coordinate development of goals for performance of marketing programs based on overall business objectives and manage marketing programs to meet those goals.
  • Create and manage marketing programs including campaigns, social media, customer lifecycle communications, content marketing, etc.
  • Develop sales support materials, including collateral, presentation content, direct mail and email content, online marketing materials and ensure sales support materials are customized appropriately for each sales channel.
  • Conduct research as necessary for audience insights, awareness and satisfaction.
  • Monitor the competitive landscape.
  • Manage communications to internal stakeholders about marketing programs.
  • Plan, develop and implement procedures for the efficient operation of the department.
  • Plan and coordinate trade show logistics including materials and booth.

Candidate Requirements:

  • Experience in strategic marketing and emerging market leadership, branding, go-to-market planning, organizational strategic planning, enterprise product and market development.
  • Experience with complex problem-solving, hands-on direct and cross-functional team creation and management, program and project management.
  • Familiarity with performance metrics development, budget stewardship, competitive and product market research, public relations and communications.
  • Experience with tradeshow and event management.
  • Excellent speaking/presentation and writing skills.
  • Knowledge of Defense and Commercial client marketing is preferred.
  • Exposure to both Product and Services marketing is preferred.
  • Willing to travel (up to 30%).

Foundational Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree and 10 years' experience. Candidates with 12 years of strong work-related experience will also be considered.
  • U.S. Citizenship required due to Government contract requirements
