Description of Essential Duties and Responsibilities

External Consulting

  • Work with customers Marketing/Risk/Channels/other Business Units to drive customer strategy development
  • Identify and help the customer realize opportunities for improvement through implementation of predictive analytics and Decisioning
  • Execute high quality deliverables across all project phases (scope through UAT)
  • Use PDM to support inbound and outbound Decision Logic Framework development
  • Manage the design and build of the rules that drive Decisioning for all areas, including contention between customer, segment or product objectives
  • Optimize use of modeling insights, analysis, and reporting to maximize effectiveness of strategies, return on investment and a positive customer experience
  • Work with customer to ensure each strategy can be, and is, measured effectively
  • Ensure each strategy is built with adherence to standard processes and an appreciation of statistical requirements of control groups and measurements as applicable
  • Work with Business Technical Teams to highlight any problems with tools/data and identify improvements in process/data/tool use
  • Demonstrate an understanding of testing processes and design and carry out testing at relevant phases of a project (Unit testing, UAT, versus direct marketing testing procedures and protocols)
  • Ensure delivered Decision Strategy Frameworks meet and perform to technical and functional requirements


  • Mentor and train client business stakeholders in key PRPC (Functionality) and Decisioning (Applications)  
  • Prepare appropriate user documentation and training materials and any other artifacts to help enable the client
  • Provide technical training and user support to business groups both on project (face to face) and off project (Mesh, Pega DeveloperNetwork)

Internal Consulting

  • Proactively collaborate with other Decisioning architects to contribute to Pega’s internal knowledge capital and best practices
  • Work withengineering/mesh community on product and framework development and improvements
  • Work with training teams to advise, help develop, and test drive Decisioning courseware and other training artifacts

Personal Development

  • Develop wider PRPC expertise
  • Develop wider Decisioning expertise

Required Qualifications:

  • BA/ BS Degree
  • 5+ years of commercial experience working in Marketing and/or Risk domain in a pre-sales and/or delivery business consulting role
  • Experience with designing and/or implementing Decisioning software (such as Blaze Advisor/Chordiant/JRules) or campaign management (such as IBM Unica, Teradata Aprimo)
  • Experience with statistical or rules based development, with relevant experience in analysis, requirements gathering, design and development of enterprise Decisioning based application systems
  • Knowledge of sales and service processes in direct channels (call centers, internet, etc.)
  • Knowledge of direct marketing principles and processes – such as campaign management propensity modeling, control groups, measurement, test and learn
  • Good understanding of customer strategy, contact optimization and interpretation of analytics
  • Communication and negotiation skills; ability to effectively present, engage and communicate with key stakeholders at all levels of seniority
  • Strong organizational and workload planning/management skills
  • Ability to learn complex material quickly and allocate time efficiently; ability to handle multiple projects and deliverables concurrently whilst managing competing priorities

Additional Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience in the marketing agency/service bureau, telecom or retailfinance industries
  • Experience with marketing and/or risk offer campaigns associated with large multi-million record customer segments
  • Experience with databases including tools/processes and an aptitude to adapt and use new technology
