Act as the primary Market-Ready segment business development champion.
Provide key strategic guidance and executional support to enable cross-functional team to deliver on segment sales and profit targets.
Contribute to the development and execution of the long-term strategic and short-term tactical priorities.
Help achieve new business growth across retail private label and branded customer segments.
Maintain regional leadership and help contribute to shaping and expanding the of MRS model within DSM.
Key Areas of Accountability / Responsibility:
Ability to develop and evolve Market-Ready segment strategy, based on understanding of internal business ambition, customer business needs and market environment/dynamics.
Must have a high level of familiarity with the retail (in-store and ecomm) CPG/Private Label environment to ensure segment positioning and key strategies remain relevant and effective within the marketplace.
Understanding of Marketing, Innovation and Sales as well as Operations, R&D and Regulatory to inform product formulation, finished product manufacture, claims development & supply pricing, This will, in turn, ensure development and execution of a robust and viable product pipeline.
Business acumen and financial skills are needed to evaluate key decisions regarding business opportunities to prioritize and operating budget/resource investments.
Understanding and application of in-house and external support services: comms, digital, design & innovation to support the development and promotion of the product portfolio and broader MRS capabilities - such as e-comm content, displays (PDQs/Pallet Trains).
Experience operating in a global organization and ability in shaping broader business segment strategy within and across regions.
Guide evaluation and expansion into new customer and business segments (customer, ingredients, forms, health benefit platforms).
Drive all strategic activities that support brand objectives including annual planning, comms development, new product launches and packaging. Maintain consistent pipeline of growth initiatives in the brand portfolio (i.e. line extensions, new products)
Research and anticipate category and market trends as well as consumer drivers to develop and execute key growth strategies and tactical activities.
Partner closely with Sales teams on all core business activities including core business development, participation on calls, trade show attendance and annual planning
At least 8 years of experience in consumer and/or B to B marketing/business development, preferably within science-based healthcare organizations (e.g., consumer health and/or supplements business segments)
BS/BA and MBA degree preferred.
Broad view on industry, in-depth knowledge of marketing, products, ingredients, manufacturing process, packaging and competitive landscape.
Knowledge of other key disciplines (Operations, Finance, Sales, Quality and Regulatory).
Budgeting, forecasting and analytical skills required.
Working understanding of finished product development, design and manufacturing
Preferable experience in working with large retail customers
Direct innovation and technical product development experience
Nimble and entrepreneurial attitude. Comfortable operating in ambiguous situations.
Experience leading cross-functional teams and hybrid organizations.
Excellent communication skills, including presenting to key internal and external business partners.
