Job Summary:

The marketing team at Bristol Hospital and Health Care Group (BHHCG) is responsible for promoting key service lines, programs and physician groups to drive brand awareness and help the organization achieve its strategic and revenue goals. We are also responsible for supporting internal communications initiatives and community events. We currently have an exciting opportunity for a marketing and communications specialist to join our team.

Under the general direction of the Systems Director of Marketing, the marketing and communications specialist will provide marketing and communications support by managing existing marketing programs, helping to develop to new marketing programs and creating internal and external marketing materials.

The ideal candidate will have 5+ years in a previous marketing role, be able to develop innovative strategies to meet marketing objectives, have excellent writing and communication skills and be able to quickly adjust to changing priorities. Copy writing is a core part of the job and the candidate must have previous experience developing marketing copy (ads, brochures, billboard headlines, etc.) and internal communications (e.g. newsletters, articles). He or she must also be able to manage multiple projects and have experience with email marketing, digital marketing, Google Analytics and website content development.

Essential Job Functions and Responsibilities:

  • Copy writing, including ads, brochures, billboard headlines, website content, etc.
  • Develops internal communications, including emails, announcements and internal campaigns. Writes monthly employee newsletter and patient-facing newsletter.
  • Manages existing marketing and communications projects; coordinates and tracks the flow of incoming marketing requests from initial request through project completion.
  • Develops marketing plans to support strategic objectives; creates and manages communication calendars; tracks success metrics.
  • Works with Digital Marketing Specialist and vendor partners to coordinate offline and online marketing efforts.
  • Coordinates and proofs design projects, both internal and external, including invitations, flyers, posters, brochures and print ads.
  • Tracks website performance; creates and maintains performance dashboards.
  • Coordinates and plans promotional events to support service lines and health system entities.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.

Educational / Minimum Requirements:

Bachelor’s Degree with major in Marketing, Public Relations or related field. Demonstrated experience in writing/communication, project management, social media and other digital marketing strategies, SEM/SEO experience. 5+ years in a previous marketing role

State/Federal Mandated Licensure or Certification Requirements:


Bristol Hospital Mandated Educational Requirements:

General orientation at time of hire. Fire/Safety/Infection Control annually. Other programs as mandated by Hospital.

Special Requirements:

Strong copy writing, proofing and organizational skills; project management and collaboration platforms; InDesign, Word, PowerPoint and Excel
