OutSystems is seeking a smart, real world experienced, passionate and analytical mind to join our product management team. A top notch candidate has executed market research and competitive intelligence programs on B2B businesses, preferably for Technology/Software Products, and has extensive experience with digital transformation initiatives and the solutions (e.g. applications, portals, systems) created to support them, across a range of different industries. This position reports to the Director of Product Management.

The lead market researcher for competitive intelligence will be responsible for helping the organization identify competitive strategies and opportunities, by gathering, analysing and structuring relevant competitive market insights.

The ideal candidate should have a demonstrated record of analytical, quantitative and qualitative methodologies, and the ability to synthesize and convey data-driven insights in a clear, actionable and narrative fashion.

This role requires a strong understanding of digital solutions and platforms, and the ability to work closely with cross-functional teams - Sales, Marketing, Product, to define and iterate on key attributes that provide competitive strategic and tactical differentiation. The successful candidate should demonstrate great communication skills, able to capture and present large amounts of data into structured actionable insights.


  • Work in the market research team, gathering and analyzing existing and potential customer data, as well as market trends, extracting competitive intelligence and identifying differentiating attributes
  • Develop a structured approach to gathering, analyzing, and synthesizing competitive insights
  • Engage in direct customer and field feedback, to enrich, validate and activate competitive research insights
  • Understand the key stakeholders and their value-drivers, mapping how each solution alternative addresses customer goals
  • Create digestible monthly/quarterly reports on key metrics for leadership teams

Desired Skills & Experience

  • 5+ years in leading technology product companies;
  • 3+ years experience in B2B Market Research & Competitive Intelligence;
  • Understanding of software buying process inside organizations.
  • High-level understanding of application development lifecycle
  • Outstanding communicator oriented to the audience at hand, experienced with C-level
  • Ability to deliver results under pressure with limited resources, to adapt to changing requirements; to plan, organize and manage multiple priorities.
  • English native or highly fluent in English.
  • Knowledge of analysis frameworks, Pestel, Porter's Five Forces, SWOT.
