What You’ll Do

We are seeking a Market Development Specialist for the Metrology business Product Marketing group that will initially focus on the general consumer electronics sector. This Market Development Specialist will play a critical role in expanding our products into specific market segments in partnership with product management, engineering, sales, and marketing. In this highly technical and market-oriented position. You are expected to identify markets and applications that will benefit from ZYGO’s current products, as well as identifying new opportunities and drive impactful solutions to address customers’ future needs, ensuring ZYGO’s continued growth.

Responsibilities Include:

  • (Key) Identify relevant market segments within the general consumer electronics sector for growth opportunities for ZYGO.
  • (Key) Research and map the value stream for each segment and current players, including primes, subcontractors, and suppliers.
  • (Key) Understand the capabilities of ZYGO products and technologies and align them with application requirements of those target markets. (one time thing – once you learn the product)
  • (Key) Develop new product requirements by shaping various customer needs as needed.
  • (Key) Analyze and track target markets and provide ongoing intelligence on technology trends, drivers, competition, emerging and disruptive technologies, and new product opportunities.
  • (Routine) Identify and understand current and future customer needs and opportunities to introduce ZYGO products and solutions to the customer.
  • (Routine) Produce SWOTs and develop business growth strategy based on above various intel.
  • (Routine Lead continuous discovery teams to identify growth opportunities within each segment.
  • (Routine Build relationships and rapport with current and potential new customers in target markets.
  • (Routine Develop appropriate marketing and sales material to support the products in the market.
  • (Routine Keep abreast of the latest industry developments by attending tradeshows, conferences, training workshops and industry events.

Who You’ll Work With

You will work with all , Sales, Marketing , Engineering groups and more throughout the organization

What you’ll Bring

  • Bachelor’s degree (minimum) in engineering, science, or physics.
  • 5+ years of work experience in a customer facing role at a manufacture with business development experience and market analysis skills.
  • Demonstrated ability to keep detailed, up-to-date records, clearly and succinctly communicate complex technical information, self-manage responsibilities, and work collaboratively with a team.
  • Excellent spoken and written communication skills in English as well as presentation skills.
  • Strong analytical and problem solving skills.
  • Basic computer skills (i.e., Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint).
  • Must be willing and able to travel domestically and internationally (30%).

What’s Nice to Have

  • Metrology experience is a plus.
