The Market Chief Executive Officer (CEO) is the senior executive in a defined geographic market and leads the overall employee, customer and community effort in addition to having direct responsibility for managing and operating a business housed within the market.


  1. Market CEO is the “owner “of the market and is “accountable” for activities and corresponding outcomes; granted “entrepreneurial latitude” to operate the market. Manage communications with the market leadership and facilitate communication between business units. Establish and lead Market Leadership Team consisting of the most senior representatives and stakeholders. Build, manage, and direct the activities of an external advisory board. Fulfill Sarbanes Oxley and other legal and regulatory responsibilities.
  2. Serves as the senior executive in the market for civic/community activities and leverage the title of CEO to support the efforts of BOKF. Owner, defender and quality control point for the brand. Promote and care for the brand. Oversight and management of donations, contributions and foundation activities. Senior point of contact for Public Relations activities and third party inquiries. Should be aware of and part of the facilitation process on inquiries.
  3. Drives client relationships and manages relationships with the LOB, business units and product groups. Point of contact for client relationships and prospect opportunities and incorporates LOB owners and senior leaders. Senior sales manager and business development resource. Exercise initiative, judgment, entrepreneurial enthusiasm, creativity and tactical skill. Possess a high level of understanding of bank products and the positioning of such products. Develop, build and execute a strategic plan. Communicate the vision/direction and ensure market participants have clarity and “buy in” regarding the market’s strategic direction. Serve as the primary “in market” contact for acquisitions. In partnership with the respective LOB managers, positioned to lead, support and facilitate branching, real estate and conversion plans.
  4. Play an role in recruiting, retention and building sustainable talent. Informed regarding key personnel decisions. Drive employee engagement and morale. Involved with development of managers. Ensures a consistent approach with employee recognition, diversity and issues of parity. Establishes the ethical and moral tone for the market. Drives the enforcement/adherence to policy, practices and procedures. Primary market communication point and designated spokesperson.


  • Comprehensive knowledge of financial institution products and services
  • Extensive knowledge and understanding of applicable lending laws and government regulations
  • Comprehensive knowledge and understanding of accounting and credit principles, lending functions, and credit loan analysis
  • Comprehensive/In depth knowledge and understanding of commercial lending policy
  • Excellent interpersonal skills including oral and written communication skills, sales and customer relations skills
  • Outstanding ability to provide leadership and must possess good team building skills
  • Strong employee development, retention and recruiting skills
  • Extensive knowledge of sales management techniques and concepts

This level of knowledge is normally acquired through completion of a Bachelor's Degree in a business related field and 15+ years experience in a financial sales management/supervisory capacity in a financial institution, or equivalent experience of 20+ years.
