Job Description

Reporting to the Integrated Supply Chain Director ART this role is responsible for driving productivity across one of the three Grace Businesses and ensuring productivity targets are achieved.

  • Develop multi-year Operations Strategy / Master Plan linked to overall Grace Business Strategy
  • Responsible for Operations Network Optimization focused on In-sourcing / out-sourcing intermediates, conversion costs, logistics / storage, and capital requirements
  • Responsible for the prioritization and tracking of Operations projects
  • Evaluate operations projects to support the Operations Strategy / Master Plan
  • Develop business cases for operations projects
  • Prioritize operations projects to optimize resource allocation (dollars and personnel)
  • Facilitate buy-in from critical stakeholders such as Technical and Business Leaders
  • Coordinate with Corporate Projects PMO
  • Track and report on projects progress to ensure projects are delivering to company financials
  • Conduct reporting and performance Analysis
  • Analyze prior year performance and help set KPI plans / targets for next several years
  • Provide in-depth analysis of current KPI performance against plans and forecasts
  • Improve and facilitate operational cadence and manufacturing reporting
  • Responsible for evaluating financial benefits, technical reviews, project approval and allocation and optimization of resources
  • Identify system-wide productivity opportunities and ensures that they are resourced
  • Integrate business and technology into project selection
  • Mentor black belts and green belts
  • Align with other product line Productivity Leaders ensuring a one Grace approach to programs and platforms
  • Work with plant managers and operations leaders to develop a sustained pool of Six Sigma talent

Required Skills

  • Demonstrate an ability to be process focused and have an organized workstyle
  • Must possess excellent organizational, communication, time management, collaborative and interpersonal skills
  • Able to thrive in a fast paced environment
  • Six Sigma and/or Lean certification required; black belt preferred
  • Ability to travel up to 25%

Required Experience

  • Minimum 10 years' experience in operations management or technical leadership
  • BS degree required with a Chemical Engineering or related discipline preferred
  • Site experience to include implementing and leading lean projects
  • Experienced working in a matrix environment, influencing and driving results through department without always having direct managerial responsibility
  • Leadership experience with Six Sigma and Lean manufacturing
  • Demonstrated experience in operational strategy development
  • Extensive analytics experience in a manufacturing environment
